As part of our Operation Warm "Coats for Kids" project, we donated 192 new winter coats to Youth Services of Glenview-Northbrook for their Holiday Gift Program which provides gifts to needy families.  Last year, Youth Services served more than 2,200 people with this program, with more than 1,000 children recieving winter coats.

Our club recieved a District Simplified Grant (DSG) to help with this project.  One requirement for a DSG is the project must have a hands-on service component.  For this project, we helped Youth Services by participating in a Gift Wrapping Party to assisit with preparing the many gifts that are a part of this wonderful program which brings holiday cheer to so many less fortunate in our community.  On December 11, Rotraians Rich Lalley, David Birkenstein, Judi Geake, Patti Van Cleave and Brook Peppy chipped in by wrapping gifts.

In addition to the new coats we are donating to Youth Services, our club donated 500new winter coats to Chicago Commons, a 100+ year old social services agency serving Chicago's poorest neighborhoods.  We are still short of our fundraising goal, so more donations are needed.  You may donate now by credit card at this PayPal website.
