Food Packing a Success! 101,000 Meals Packed on Global Youth Service Day

Check out photos from our Kids Against Hunger food packing project! Over 400 volunteers came together to pack 101,000 meals on Global Youth Service Day. Thanks to the Volunteer Center and the Winnetka Community House for all your hard work making this happen. And speacial thanks to the Winnetka Park District for helping load in the bulk food and packing materials and for getting the trucks loaded with the finished meals! 13 pallets of food are on the way to Nicaragua for distribution to hungry children by World Outreach Ministries and one pallet of food will be distributed to the New Trier Township and Northfield Township Food Pantries.

Our project generated great press coverage. Here's a video featured in the Winnekta and Wilmette-Kenilworth Patch online newspapers.
