The Club was reminded that the Chamber of Commerce’s “After Hours” event for April is being co-sponsored by our club.  It will be held on Thursday, April 24th at the Happ Inn in Northfield from 5 to 7 p.m.  There will be a regular noon meeting on that day.

John Thomas announced that the Winnetka Youth Organization would be holding their annual benefit on Friday, April 25th at the Community House.  See club member Kristen Leahy, the Executive Director of the WYO, for details and tickets

Bob Baker, our incoming president, also announced that our club would be holding an anniversary benefit on Friday, May 16th at the Michigan Shores Club.  We will be celebrating our 90th anniversary at the event.  Tickets will be $90 per person and the dinner event will run from 6 to 10 p.m. with professional musical entertainment.  Bob is in need of auction items.

The day’s program was presented by David Hartigan and his son Andrew.  David’s philanthropic efforts began years ago with raising money for Children’s Diabetes.  He and his son have set up a new charitable endeavor called “Donate Clothes 2 Educate.”  They are seeking donated used clothes, which will be sold by the pound.  The proceeds of the sale of these clothes will be used to give out $500 scholarships.  Each clothes donor will be entered into a raffle for the available scholarships.  Checks will be written to the student designated by the donor and the student’s school.  They are seeking shopping center managers to donate an empty storefront to serve as a collection point.
