Announcements:
· Bob Baker announced that the anniversary celebration planning committee has selected Froggy’s as the caterer for the event. More information to come!
· Rich Lalley shared that the Wilmette Rotary Club Foundation is organizing the Rotary Hope Walk for the Homeless on May 4 at Gillson Park. All are encouraged to participate – click here to register, or click here to volunteer, or click here to donate. Depending on our participation, funds from the walk will come back to our Foundation to be granted to organizations of our choice that provide services to those who are homeless.
· Heidi Sibert shared that the Volunteer Center is holding a special event on May 2 to honor Barb Tubekis and her 30 years of service to the Volunteer Center and the community. Several Rotarians plan to attend. Click here for more information – you can purchase a ticket or donate to the Volunteer Center in Barb’s honor.

Fred Schwimmer shared Happy Bucks. There were no birthdays or Rotary anniversaries this week.  Robert Mardirossian shared a story about a Cubs vs Cardinals game – which turned out to be a tribute to teachers! – for Dig & Grin.

David Grant introduced our guest speaker, starting with a thank you to Chuck Dowding for helping to secure our speaker. Andrew Garner is the Director of Agronomy at the Winnetka Golf Club. After giving some background on Earth Day, Andrew shared an overview of the Golf Club’s sustainability initiatives in honor of Earth Day.
